*sigh* CNN. In such denial of reality. Ratings in the sewer (Beaten regularly by Nickelodeon and HGTV). Out of touch with mainstream America and catering to the smug elitists who look down their noses at people who live in “flyover country”.
In this article, shared gleefully by liberals on social media, CNN jabs at President Trump for saying you need an ID to buy groceries, saying this isn’t true.Try buying beer at a grocery store without ID. Try writing a check at a grocery store without ID. Try using a credit card in a tourist destination without ID. Try doing many, many things in America without an ID.
Honest people know ID is required for many transactions. Honest people. But we’re not dealing with honest people here.
Part of the leftist elite snobbery assumes that most Americans are too unenlightened to know how to manage their lives, so they need government to handle things for them. This same attitude claims to be “protecting” minority voters from evil people who would deprive them of their vote by requiring ID to prove that they are in fact who they claim to be at the polls – which in truth is incredibly condescending, assuming black Americans are incapable of acquiring a simple government ID. This consideration of black Americans as somehow less capable is real racism. And it has been going on for a long time in the name of “advocacy”.
Not long ago a filmmaker, Ari Horowitz, interviewed white liberals at UC Berkeley and black people in Harlem about voter ID. What he learned was revealing, and not in a good way for liberals. (See the video here: https://youtu.be/yW2LpFkVfYk)
Liberals play the race card because they know that people have been conditioned to be repulsed by the thought of racism. Even when such claims are completely false, most people will recoil from anyone associated with racism. So, when a leftist wants to do damage, they cry “racism”, “oppression”, and “vote suppression”, because they know most people will react exactly the way they want them to – by distancing themselves from the accused.
Don’t buy the lie. Even if it’s coming from “The Most Trusted Name In News”.
